Gallery 96

Our annual Small Works Exhibition in the glass cases in the Shoreview Community Center features artwork that is 7 inches by 7 inches or smaller, excluding the frame. It runs from January 7, 2025 through the end of March.

The winter 2025 Gallery 96 exhibition at the Shoreview Library is titled “Complementary Colors ” and runs until March 1. Each member was encouraged to enter an artwork of their choice reflecting their interpretation of the use of complementary colors from the color wheel.

Gallery 96 members receive a quarterly newsletter which recaps the most recent exhibitions and provides information on upcoming opportunities and shows.

The Gallery 96 Fall 2024 Art Exhibition in the Shoreview Library Community Room was called “Artist’s Choice - Past & Present” in honor of Gallery 96’s 25th Anniversary. An Opening Reception was held on October 9 and included remarks by our juror, art educator Jeff Pridie.

Fall 2024 Glass Cases - "Recycled"

The Gallery 96 Fall 2024 Art Exhibition in the Shoreview Community Center glass cases is called “Recycled.” The exhibit is open through December.

Gallery 96 had a booth at Slice of Shoreview in July, 2024. In addition to providing information about Gallery 96’s programs, Children and adults were encouraged to pose for photos in our artsy cutouts and get temporary tattoos. There was also a chalk art drawing in the street provided by a grant from the Shoreview Community Foundation..

"Movement" - Summer, 2024

The summer Gallery 96 exhibit in the Shoreview Community Center glass cases is titled “Movement”.

Gallery 96’s spring show in the Shoreview Library Community Room was titled “Tangled Up in Blue” and included works related to the color blue, the idea of tangled objects and references to the Bob Dylan song Tangled Up in Blue.

The theme of our exhibition in the glass cases of the Shoreview Community Center for the second quarter of 2024 is Explosion of Color. It runs through the end of June, 2024.

“Pears, Pairs and Pares”

The Gallery 96 Fall 2023 Art Exhibition in the Shoreview Community Center glass cases was called “Pears, Pairs & Pares”.

Thanks to a grant from the Shoreview Community Foundation, Gallery 96 is held 3 free Plein Air painting classes in the summer of 2023 led by locally recognized painter and board member Amy Clark. During the month of September, an exhibit of the paintings from the Plein Air classes was held in the glass casses in the Shoreview Community Center.

The Gallery 96 Art Discussion group meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7pm in the Shoreview Community Center to chat with each other and discuss new ideas in art. This is a great way to become acquainted with fellow artists, and work together on projects. No required registration! Just bring one of your completed works, a work in process, an art related book you are reading or just yourself. It’s free, loose in structure, and ideas abound. Check the overhead monitors for the room location.
